Rockport

Modern convenience for a busy family… our first custom build was in Rockport, where we constructed an heirloom-quality sauna with a modern electric Huum heater, enabling the owners to program via wifi, their desired times and temperatures so that it will be hot and ready to use at their discretion. Also of note, this sauna is able to be transported so that should the owners relocate, they can take their sauna with them!

Why Sauna?

Relax.

Breathe deep.

Let the heat take over.

Youʼre in here for a reason, and letʼs just agree itʼs because you want to feel  better. It could be youʼre stressed-out from work, or the traffic, or the incessant  propaganda bombarding you all day. Thereʼs a good chance youʼre freezing,  because this is Maine, and your body is craving some serious heat. You could  just be feeling weak, tired, sore, and need to recharge.

Sauna is the cure for your ailments.

Maybe you need time alone… to be quiet, to be free, to clear your mind.

Maybe you need time with your spouse… to reconnect, to smile, to feel peace.

Maybe you need time with your friends… to get real, to laugh, to sweat.

Maybe you need time with your family… to reminisce, to tell stories, to make  memories.

Youʼll find all this at the sauna.

In Finland, the ancestral home of the sauna, the word, sauna, describes both a  place and an activity.

When you sauna, youʼre promoting immune support and stress reduction, while  creating an atmosphere of quiet contemplation and social connections. Saunas  improve your overall health, wellness and performance, as the heat from a sauna  relaxes your bodyʼs muscles, improves circulation and stimulates the release of  “feel good” endorphins. The high heat of sauna practice increases your blood  circulation, which boosts your bodyʼs healing process, thereby soothing any  annoying aches and pains. Sauna practice also increases relaxation and  decreases stress by reducing cortisol levels while simultaneously increasing  serotonin in the blood. The aftereffects of a sauna promote a deeper sleep, as the  endorphins released from the high heat slowly decline, and lull your body into a heavy, dreamy sleep. Saunas boost immune function with the high heat and  steam, signaling to your body to more rapidly produce white blood cells, which  combat disease and viruses. In addition, breathing the hot steam helps to relieve  sinus congestion, especially in conjunction with plants like eucalyptus or mint.  Saunas cleanse your skin through sweat; cleaning out your pores, and increasing  capillary circulation, offering you softer, glowing skin. Saunas nourish your soul  by providing a refuge for relaxing in a calm atmosphere; perfect for quiet  contemplation, meditation and rejuvenation. Alternatively, saunas also provide a  perfect environment for gathering with family and friends; a place to talk, to  laugh, to connect and relate to one another. Sauna practice will genuinely make  you feel better, look better, sleep better and be better. Ultimately, the sauna is a  perfect opportunity to create your ideal environment in which to heal your body,  restore your mind, regenerate your energy, and renew your soul.
