What's included

The HUUM DROP is inspired by the purest element in nature — a drop of water. Its rounded form softens the angular interior of a classic sauna, and behind the sculptural shape is a genuinely capable heater: a compact wall-mounted unit that holds up to 122 lbs of stone, more than most wood-burning stoves, for a soft, consistent high heat and long-lasting steam. Winner of the Red Dot Award in Europe for design.

Four sizes, one page. Pick the output that matches your room — 4.5 kW suits rooms from 106 cubic feet, 9 kW handles rooms up to 530 — then choose whether you want the heater on its own or a complete package with a HUUM UKU control and 132 lbs of Olivine sauna stones. Pricing updates as you choose.

About the UKU control. UKU Local gives you settable on/off, time, temperature and delayed start up to 48 hours ahead. The Wi-Fi versions add the HUUM mobile app, so you can preheat the sauna from anywhere — available in black, glass and mirror finishes.

Running costs. A heater's output tells you its electricity use: a 6 kW DROP running at full power for an hour uses 6 kWh. At Maine's average residential rate of about 30¢/kWh, that's roughly $1.80 an hour. Once the room reaches temperature, the thermostat cycles the heater on and off, so a typical session — about 45 minutes to heat up, then an hour of bathing — costs less than you might think.

Output Per hour, full power Typical session
4.5 kW $1.35 about $1.70
6.0 kW $1.80 about $2.25
7.5 kW $2.25 about $2.80
9.0 kW $2.70 about $3.40

Estimates based on 30¢/kWh (Maine average, 2026). Your rate, room size and insulation will vary — outdoor saunas take a little longer to heat in deep winter.

Complete this installation

HUUM makes these to fit one heater body. These are the ones for the size you have selected.

A safety rail is not required for the heater to work, but it is what keeps skin off a casing that runs above 200°F. We would not install one of these without it.
