The second sauna we've built in Concord, Massachusetts, and nothing like the first. This one is a dark box at the edge of the woods — black brushed vertical cladding, the boards running floor to roofline — finished while the landscape around it was still being built, so the sauna stood done at the back of the yard before the patio reached it.
Inside, the tone reverses: warm wood on every surface and benches on two walls. The heater's stone column stands directly beside a big window, so from the bench you look at stacked stone with the trees behind it — heat and woods in the same frame.
